In The Bag

My relationship with my golf clubs has changed over the years. I had a favorite - a #3 wood that I always used. I loved that club. I hit it so far, that I never used the driver.

When the shaft of the club broke at the 17th hole in Majorca my caddy Gareth said, ”We'd better not fix that club, because if we do you will never learn to hit the driver well." He was right - we did not fix that club and since then I have gotten way better with the driver.

Today, I try to be free in my mind when I select a club for a shot by listening to my 100-th of a second. In other words I go a lot more on my gut feeling.

I start this season with a lot of new equipment in in the bag mainly from TaylorMade.

In my golf bag:

Since TaylorMade bought Adams Golf, I had the opportunity to choose between the two brands. I chose TaylorMade. Looking forward to the partnership with them. This is my set of clubs:

  • 3 wood TaylorMade RBZ second generation 13 or 15 degrees (still working with them)
Shaft Fujikura Motore Speedster 8.2 TS X Flex
  • 5 wood TaylorMade RBZ second generation 18.5 degrees
    Shaft as 3 wood
  • 3 iron TaylorMade RBZ
  • 5 iron- pw TaylorMade MB
shaft Dynamic gold Super light or Nippon, NS pro prototype (sill testing)
  • Wedges Vokey design 50,55 and 60 degrees.
    Shaft as above
  • Putter Scotty Cameron

I will keep playing the Titleist Pro V1X ball, 2013 model, which feels good.

Other things I keep in the bag at the tournaments:

  • Four yellow sticks for line up on the range
  • An old shaft for drills
  • About 12 balls
  • A little bag with tee pegs, extra spikes for shoes,
  • Spike Wrench

  • Marker coins to mark the ball on the green

When travelling, I also bring an extra wedge, back-up driver, two pairs of golf shoes and extra rain gear.
